Right Side Back Pain

Backaches are increasingly common among adults these days. These aches could be chronic or acute. Among the different kinds of backaches, right side back pain is quite common and is seen in adults of all ages. This pain is also the easiest to treat if diagnosed perfectly.

As easy as it is to treat this pain, it cannot be ignored, as it can hamper even daily movements such as walking, bending, or lifting small items. Moreover, trying to determine the causes of right side back pain could be annoying or difficult.

Causes and Symptoms of Right Side Back Pain

The most common cause of backache could be bad posture, and the right side back pain is no exception to this. Improper bending or lifting of heavy objects, or even an improper sleeping posture can cause right side back pain.

Sometimes, previous injuries or obesity could also be the culprits. Obesity is specifically problematic, as it causes undue pressure on the body due to the person's extra weight. People who are ailing from herniated discs also usually suffer from right side back pain. Other possible reasons include muscle imbalances or lack of specific nutrients in the body.

The main symptom of this condition is pain, and this pain could range from a dull ache to severe pain that disrupts normal activities.

Diagnosis of Right Side Back Pain

Medical history and the actual physical condition of the patient are very important in determining the correct cause of this condition. Physicians may, however, suggest x-rays and blood tests in some cases to be more certain.

Treatments for Right Side Back Pain

Right side back pain can usually be treated with the help of simple non drug treatments such using a hot pack or massages to soothe the muscles around the affected area. In certain cases, anti inflammatory drugs may also be prescribed to patients for quick relief.

If the pain has resulted due to lack of nutrients, doctors suggest a course of multivitamin tablets and other relevant medication. Physical therapy or Yoga may also be recommended by doctors depending on the patient's condition.
